Indirect, it has the advantage of setting concrete objectives directly in the law, thus speeding up the legislative process.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"swatch-white\">By 2050, the building and transport sectors will have to be CO2-free, and industry will have to reduce its emissions by 90%, according to the text. Any remaining emissions will have to be offset. An intermediate target has also been set: Switzerland must reduce its emissions by 75% compared to 1990 levels by 2040. Several incentive instruments are envisaged.
