A number that is set to double by 2050, according to the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.banquemondiale.org\/fr\/topic\/urbandevelopment\/overview#:~:text=Vue%20d%27ensemble,-Contexte&amp;text=Aujourd%27hui%2C%2055%20%25%20de,monde%20vivront%20en%20milieu%20urbain.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">World Bank<\/a>, while the surface area of cities could be&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/s41467-020-15788-7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">multiplied by 6<\/a>&nbsp;by 2100.  <\/span><span class=\"swatch-white\">New building construction and renovation are two key sectors in the ecological transition. There are many<\/span><span class=\"swatch-white\">here are many ways to reduce CO2 emissions in the building sector: renovating thermal flats, developing low-carbon electricity production or &#8220;greening&#8221; the production of raw materials (steel, concrete, iron)&#8230; This last lever will account for almost 10% of the building sector&#8217;s greenhouse gas emissions in 2020.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"swatch-white\">In addition to GHG emissions, there is growing concern about sand resources and the fact that concrete contributes to the erosion of biodiversity.
