It&#8217;s a start, but it&#8217;s not enough.&nbsp; &#8220;<\/span><span class=\"swatch-white\">The next step will be to develop hydrogen propulsion, with fuel cells that generate electricity directly from the hydrogen oxidation reaction. The process has been known since the early 19th&nbsp;century, and the current challenge is to make these systems lighter and less expensive.&#8221;&nbsp; It will be the turn of the next group of students to equip an airplane. The idea behind a focus project is to enable students to put their theoretical knowledge into practice and pass it on to the next generation when they leave school.
