Despite her fear, Celia Umenza is determined to stay in the field to protect her forest, home to her Nasa people for centuries, in south-western Colombia. Celia is an indigenous activist, and her fight upsets many people: from Farc rebels to farmers and mining operators who want more and more land. 
Global Witness has released new figures which tell us that 227 people were killed in 2020 while trying to protect forests, rivers and other ecosystems on which their livelihoods depended.
