In recent decades, private jets have become a growing source of global emissions, while providing very little value to most people on earth.

According to environmental journalist Oliver Milman: 

“private aircraft still emit over 33 million tonnes of greenhouse gases, more than the country of Denmark… they are five to 14 times more polluting than commercial aircraft, per passenger, and 50 times more polluting than trains.

It might be less insulting if these private flights were carried out for reasons vital to the survival of the human race, or at least to the functioning of the government. But these were artists and individuals who have access to first-class commercial flights and the same amenities as we do.
