The Lumière brothers introduced this practice as long ago as 1896, when two cases of Sunlight brand soap were featured in the foreground of one of their films. These investments serve to partly finance the films, to a greater or lesser extent depending on whether they are European or American, or to lend credibility to the story, depending on the agency. The films nominated for the 2022 César Awards are no exception. Several feature films include product placements, such as the heroine of Aline’s film, Air France, and the protein drink Black Protein in Cédric Jimenez’s film Bac Nord.
