Bruno Latour hoped that humans could learn to become one with the planet and with each other, rather than seeing each other as commodities ready to be exploited. For example, he hoped  that the COVID pandemic would revolutionize our way of life by forcing us into forced retirement, making us cooperate like termites with each other and with our environment. He believed that liberating thoughts could travel as fast as the Covid.

“The virus is teaching us a lesson”, he declared in an interview… If you spread it from mouth to mouth, you can viralize the world very quickly. This knowledge can give us back our power.”

He’s gone, but his thoughts live on and will continue to inspire generations of intellectuals, artists and activists. generations of intellectuals, artists and activists.
