Sweden’s Do Black bank card can be used to block purchases with too high a carbon footprint. It responds to a growing demand from consumers to know more about the impact of their purchases, in order to reduce their individual carbon footprint. For the more wary who might think that this system would limit our freedoms, rest assured that the choice is entirely up to the consumer.

Coalition launches petition calling for a law on responsible multinationals

The Coalition for Responsible Multinationals deplores the fact that Swiss companies are regularly implicated in human rights violations or acts of pollution. On August 20, it launched a petition calling for an effective law on multinational corporate responsibility, aiming for 100,000 signatures in 100 days. The 2020 popular initiative won a majority of the people, but not of the cantons.
