It’s not so easy to know whether our footprint is smaller or larger depending on whether we choose (or not) to telework or commute. A first step can already be taken quite easily by calculating the carbon footprint of our commutes, since this is one of the main positive effects of telecommuting (although beware of the mode of transport). The French Environment and Energy Management Agency (Ademe) has developed an easy-to-use calculator to give us a clearer picture.
