A study by the Mots Clés agency shows that, despite numerous laws designed to advance equality between men and women, the situation is not improving: there are just three women at the head of CAC 40 companies, and 21% on the management committees of SBF 120 companies. Mots Clés explains this immobility by the weight of gender bias and collective representations that dilute the effects of laws. She cites the example of the different questions asked of women and men in similar contexts. “Ordinary sexism contributes to keeping women out of power”, notes the study.
