ShareAction examined bank financing since the April 2021 launch of the industry-led Net Zero banking alliance, convened by the United Nations. 24 of the 25 banks are Alliance members. ShareAction calls on the Alliance to demand that its members stop funding fossil fuel expansion. It also asks member banks to start limiting financing for companies developing oil and gas production on their own.
