Livestock farming has a huge impact on climate and biodiversity. According to Yale’s Global Forest Atlas, some 80% of the deforestation and destruction of the Amazon rainforest, for example, is linked to this industry. Such studies continue to lead to the conclusion that avoiding meat and dairy could be, as Poore told the Guardian, “the best way to reduce your impact on planet Earth.”
But cattle farming isn’t just about beef. What about leather made from the hides of these same cows?
