Commitment is at the heart of their business. These men and women are inspired by the world to act differently and sustainably, making their environment a channel for expression, creativity, innovation and solidarity. Finance, culture, crafts, industry and the media are just some of the fields embodied by these personalities, who have agreed to be in cahoots with us for a meeting to share their universe.

Childhood friends Yohanna and Romain decided one day to quit their respective jobs to realize their shared dream of entrepreneurship. Gourmets and the intrepid curious, 5 years earlier, while Romain was a student in Berlin, they discovered the best kebab recipe in the world at Mustafa’s. Gemüse kebap. In love from the start, they had only one idea in mind: to open a store in Geneva to promote this concept, which reflects their image and values.

Yohann and Romain tasted with the best, tested sauces with varying degrees of spiciness, met chickens, went through a series of spits and then set out to find an artisan baker for a made-to-measure loaf. After a year, the idea became concrete, the recipe perfect, and the adventure began.

Who doesn’t find their mouth watering at the thought of a good kebab? For this first episode of the “In cahoots with” podcast, I had the pleasure of spending some time with two entrepreneurs who have ideas and projects in their heads, and who are the founders of Alles Gut! Gemüse Kebab, Geneva’s first sustainable kebab.

Their recipe for an eco-responsible, socially committed kebab: home-grown marinated chicken, a farandole of grilled vegetables, crudités, fresh herbs, a creamy white sauce and another lightly spiced sauce, a squeeze of lemon, all topped off with a little   feta, cooked and served by thoughtful, fulfilled employees.

If you’d like to try them, and why not add a suspended kebab, a sandwich that you pay for in advance and that will go to someone in need, you’ll find them at Quai Ansermet 2 close to Uni Mail University, but also at the summer refreshment bar on Garten Montblanc at rue du Mont Blanc near the station (except during heatwave periods).

“With Sustainable Development we no longer put profit first, we almost put it second, and that changes the game a bit because we find that meaning and because we have a thousand other things to gain from it than just money.”

In this interview, Yohann and Romain share with passion and great humility their entrepreneurial experience, their successes but also their difficulties, and above all their very holistic approach to the sustainability of a company which includes both environmental and social commitments to which they are very attached. I hope you enjoy listening to them as much as I do.

“We have to find that balance between the impact we can have, the resources we have and feasibility.”

What advice or message would you like to pass on to people who want to get involved and create projects that are positive for the planet and its people?

“You have to take it one step at a time and not do everything at once, not rush into anything and do it over time.”

Yohann

“You have to get to know yourself as much as possible and make your business something personal, something that really suits you.”
