With just a few weeks to go before the climate negotiations in Glasgow, the question arises as to whether countries might abandon their climate commitments in favor of economic issues.

Among the countries criticized for their support of fossil fuels, Brazil, China, the USA and South Africa have made a political commitment to achieve net zero emissions over the next three to four decades, while Germany, Canada and the UK have passed legislation in this area.
