Carrefour accused of contributing to deforestation in Amazonia through its supplies

In a report published on the occasion of World Amazon Day, the environmental NGO Mighty Earth criticizes Carrefour for sourcing from “meat and soy traders with devastating practices”. In particular, it targets the group’s activities in Brazil, where it controls 25% of the market, and calls on it to respect its commitments to combat deforestation.

Haarlem in the Netherlands, the first city in the world to ban meat advertising in public

Using animals for meat is twice as polluting as producing plant-based food. Based on the observation that meat contributes to the climate crisis, a Dutch city of 160,000 inhabitants located west of Amsterdam has decided to ban advertising on buses, shelters or screens in public places, with the aim of reducing meat consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.

ZEvent, the charity marathon for streammers, broke its record for donations with over 10 million euros.

This concept, invented by Adrien Nougaret aka “ZeratoR” and Alexandre Dachary aka “Dach”, brings together some sixty of France’s most popular streamers for an online charity marathon featuring video games, challenges and debates broadcast live on each streamer’s Twitch account. This year, ecology is the lucky beneficiary!

The “Kreis” house, an experimental laboratory for ecological building and living.

Angela Birchler, a building biologist, and her friend are experimenting with life in the “KREIS house”, an almost self-contained dwelling designed for one to two people. The house is intended to be an experimental laboratory for ecological construction and living. Among the things its two residents appreciate most are the interior atmosphere created by natural building materials and the self-sufficiency of the house.
